Insecurity: Kaduna Choir preaches love through music

The musical concert

In view of the prevailing security and other challenges facing the country, Kaduna Metropolitan Choir has embarked on a musical concert to preach love, peace, and unity through songs with a view to uniting people in the state.

Supervisory Leader of the choir, Mr Samuel Yatai told newsmen at ECWA Gospel Church Barnawa that the concert was targeted at encouraging people to love one another through singing.

Yatai explained that, the concert with the theme “Obstacles Removed in the Body of Christ”, reflects the prevailing insecurity, hunger, poverty, and other circumstances affecting people in the state.

He said, the concert, which is the second of its kind brought different choir groups from different churches to sing about peace, love, and unity, as a way out of the current predicaments facing the country.

The leader identified the choir groups that participated from the exercise to include: Barnawa Catholic Deanary, ECWA Kaduna Zone DCC, COCIN RCC Choir, ANCA Choir, 1DIV. Garrison Choir and Kaduna Baptist Conference Choir.

Others included Kaduna North, central and South Metropolitan Choir, and ECWA Gospel Barnawa Choir.

He described as privileged for people from different backgrounds and orientation to congregate and share God’s love through music, noting that, choristers within the three metropolitan area s of the state constituted membership of the choir groups.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe who commended the group for promoting love, tolerance, and peace through songs, urged them to do more towards ensuring a progressive and united kaduna state.

Represented by the Special Adviser on Community Relations Mrs. Stella Amako, Mrs. Balarabe commended the Metropolitan Choir for the demonstration of love and peace to promote harmonious relationship.

Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. Ezekiel Bulus, described the metropolitan choir as a “platform” for the creation of peace and unity through singing.

The State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in his keynote address said, the association would continue to encourage Christian groups to preach the needed love and tolerance towards building a united and progressive Nigeria.
