FG unveils N32trn project for North East development

The Federal Government has launched a 32 trillion Naira Validation Master plan for development of North East Region.

The intervention program which cuts across all sectors including Education, Health, Entrepreneur, Sanitation will span from 2020 to 2030.

At the unveiling of the Validation of North East Stabilisation and Development Master Plan, NESDMP, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,Mr Boss Mustapha advocated transparency and Citizens’ participation towards ensuring public Trust on the Project.

The Managing Director, of the North East Development Commission, Alhaji Muhammed Alkali said the plan has eleven critical pillars towards reconstruction and rehabilitation of the people of the Region.

Also, the Chairman, NEDC, Major General Paul Tarfa described the launched Master Plan as apt towards finding lasting solutions to challenges caused by the insurgents.

Major General Tarfa said the program would improve Nutrition, Hygiene as well as providing Scholarship for  people to study the remote causes of Violent Extremism and the way forward.

The Chairman, North East Governors Forum and Governor of Borno State, Prof.Babagana Zulum who expressed delight over the program supported by the Federal Government and donors, stressed the need for key players for the implementation of the plan to complement it with the existing measures,policies and programs embarked upon by the Six States Government of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno Gombe,Taraba, Yobe.

North-East Stabilization and Development Master Plan is an all inclusive roadmap for Reconstruction, redevelopment, Regeneration, Rehabilitation and sustainable growth of the region.
