The world Bank in collaboration with a Non- governmental organization, Africa Youth Growth Foundation has provided over one million nutritional services to households under the world bank Accelerated Nutrition Result in Nigeria
The Executive Secretary of the foundation, Dr. Arome Salifu stated this at a town hall meeting organized by the foundation in Abuja.
Dr. Salihu noted that the foundation had supported over five million Nigerian migrants in Europe and north America through its Migration Information and communication campaign in partnership with Nigeria in Diaspora Commission and the registration of 50,000 internally displaced Persons under the NIN registration exercise by the National Identity Management Commission.
Niger state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Muhammad Makusidi represented by the Project Manager, Accelerating Nutrition Result in Nigeria ANRIN, Niger state, Mr. Shehu Muhammad Etsugaie applauded the foundation for its contribution in eradicating malnutrition in over 13 local government in the state while charging them to keep striving for a nutrition-based and wealthy society.
Dr. Makusidi stressed that the state government has also invested over a N100m in fighting malnutrition in the state with remarkable achievements recorded through effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
They were goodwill messages from representatives of Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, Kogi State ministry of health, Federal ministry of labour and employment, Kogi state Ministry of Health and other international partners.
