George Shitta also explained that the league will serve as a hunt for hidden talents as the state is preparing for the National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta state capital.

“Throughout this year, we hosted National Division II Volleyball, we hosted inter-local government Beach volleyball, we are now hosting the Unity League which is going to run for a while, and the last National Youth Games, Taraba State came 1st in volleyball throughout the country, so, we are going to build on these successes and continue to see where we can reach out,” Shitta said.

Captain of Team Duchess, Gimba Bala who lost 3-1 to Bangs Spikers, appreciated the turnout and described the game as wonderful, while he attributed their failure to the darkness at the pitch as according to him, most of his teammates are old people and were not seeing clearly.
