NSCDC arrest personnel of private security firm

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC in Anambra State has arrested four personnel of some alleged unregistered Private security guards in the state.

The arrest was in continuation of the on-going effort to strengthen the operations of Private Security Guards in the area, the Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Deputy Superintendent of the Corps Edwin Okadigbo has said in a statement on Thursday.

DSC. Okadigbo said the Operatives recovered two pump action shotguns from them as they were arrested at various points in Awka following credible intelligence by the Corps personnel.

He said Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi, Head of Private Guards Company Department led the operation.

‘’the State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Chukwudi Chikere in his determination to professionalize the industry mandated the Private Guard Company Department to rid the state of all unregistered Private security outfits providing services without proper licensing by the Federal Government  through the NSCDC across the State’’ the statement reads.

He said the Commandant warned intending operators to adhere strictly to the guidelines and conditions stipulated by law for the operation of Private Guard Company or face the wrath of the law.

DSC Okadigbo said investigation into the matter was ongoing after which the four arrested guards would be arraigned in court
