The Minister of State for Power, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba has inaugurated projects sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) as part of intervention programmes at the Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River State.
The projects include the Science Complex, a 2015-2018 (Merged) intervention project and the Arts and Social Sciences Block, a 2015-2018 (Merged) intervention project.
Prince Jedy Agba urged the Management of theCollege, staff and students to put to good use the projects that were being released to them to propagate effective learning in the college.
The Provost of the College, Dr Richard Ugbaha Utubaku thanked the Federal Government for addtrssing the plights of the students and the college community by providing a comfortable and serene environment to enable learning to take place actively.
The Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono who was represented by the Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Babatunde Olajide expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on the projects and assured the Provost that more projects would be channelled into the institution to achieve the standard they all require.
The Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade represented by the Commissioner for Education Godwin Amanke, said the intervention projects across the various state-owned tertiary institutions including the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), College of Education Akamkpa, the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ugep amongst others have improved access to tertiary education in the state.
The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Govt Area, where the college is located, Mr Boniface Eraye Ewhe called for the urgent rehabilitation of the deplorable roads in the college.
