Buhari advocates prayer for peaceful general election

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Religious Institutions to pray for peaceful conduct of 2023 general election.

The President gave the advice in a message to this year’s standing committee of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion holding in Abuja.

Represented by the Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Mr Sunday Dare, President Buhari commended the roles of Christain Community towards the development of the Church.

The President said the contributions of the Church towards ensuring credible leaders in 2023 polls will be highly appreciated.

He pledged continuous working relationship with Inter-religious organizations towards achieving peaceful coexistence in the country.

Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, appealed to the Bishops to educate their members on the need to fully participate in the polls and avoid vote trading.

Archbishop Ndukuba, emphasized that patriotic citizens must do the needful to allow the will of God to manifest in the forthcoming general election.

Over one hundred and thirty Anglican Bishops across the country is attending the program with the theme: Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done.
