Politicians tasked to prioritize campaigns on SDGs

Politicians have been urged to prioritize their agenda on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure inclusiveness.

The Founder of Connected Development (CODE) Hamzat Lawal, made the call at an event to mark this year’s Global Week campaign on Act4SDGs, tagged #FlipTheScript, in Abuja.

He said, the political atmosphere presents a unique opportunity to flip the script and as such, politicians should ensure that the SDGs are in the centre of their campaigns.

Executive Director Dean Initiative, Mr Semiye Michael, expressed displeasure over the slow pace of sdgs in the country and called on the federal government to step up the tempo as well holds public officials accountable for every action.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
