The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has brought down three buildings around the storey building that collapsed at Number 2, Oye Sonuga street, Palm Avenue, Mushin.
The building itself was brought to the ground on Friday.
Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, who supervised the controlled demolition of the buildings said they failed integrity tests conducted by the State Building Control Agency and had to be brought down to avert danger.
He said four bodies recovered from the collapsed structure had been deposited in the mortuary, while two of those who were rescued and receiving treatment at the hospital had been discharged.
Dr Oke-Osanyintolu appealed to Lagos residents to always obey the rules and regulations guiding building construction.
As at the time of filing in this report, Our Correspondent reports that officials of the Building Control Agency as well as security officials were also on ground to ensure the smooth demolition of the affected buildings.
