2023: ‘Pray for Nigeria’ – CAN urges citizens

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is urging Nigerians to increase their prayers for the country and to support the Independent National Electoral Commission to conduct free, fair, and peaceful elections next year.

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, President of CAN, who joins Nigerians in celebrating the country’s 62nd independence anniversary, said development is the collective responsibility of all citizens.

Archbishop Okoh, in a statement, advised Nigerians to avoid vote-buying as politicians who offer inducements to voters, particularly on election day, are not truly concerned with the welfare of the people.

The CAN President urged the Federal Government to resolve the impasse with university lecturers in the best interests of young people whose future is at stake.

He also appealed to government at all levels to provide basic infrastructure for citizens, saying it was his sincere hope that God would rescue Nigeria from the shackles of insecurity and poverty.
