A 30-year-old Nigerian woman, Nwafor Onyinye Monica, has been arrested with cocaine worth 5.75 lakh in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Onyinye, who went to India nine months ago for her brother’s cancer treatment, was arrested on Saturday.
The police also recovered Rs 2.6 lakh cash from her and seized her mobile phone.
According to Pallikaranai Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) police, a routine check was conducted along the ECR, OMR and during the check, they questioned the suspect, who was behaving suspiciously.
The police then found out that she had 72 gm of cocaine in her possession.
A case was filed by Kanathur police and the woman was arrested.
