APC to restore Benue’s lost glory- Fr Alia

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Dr Hyacinth Alia says he is ready to restore the glory of the state when he assumes office as governor.

The reverend father gave the assurance on Sunday while addressing a crowd after a thanksgivings service in honour of Memga Usende and other APC candidates in Sankera geo-political axis held at NKST Central Church Zakibiam, Ukum local government area, Benue State.

In a statement by the Media Aide to the candidate, Issac Uzaan, Fr Alia lamented over the continue rise in poverty and underdevelopment, revealing his intention to engage opinion leaders and traditional rulers in addressing the challenges of insecurity which has claimed the lives of many people and rendered many more homeless.

Fr Alia called on the people to vote the APC at every leadership level so as to form a like-minded team that will take Benue State out of the quagmire of bad governance and equally deliver to them excellent democratic dividends.

In separate remarks, the APC candidate for Benue Northeast Senatorial district Emmanuel Memga Usende, Prince Solomon Wombo and Paul Biam gave the electorates the assurance that the aspirants of the APC were capable of delivering fair and transparent representation.

The event also witnessed mass decamping of politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lead by Merga Kachina from to the APC, commissioning of campaign offices as well as adornment of Rev Fr Alia, Sam Ode, Emmanuel Memga Usende, Prince Solomon Wombo and others in Tiv traditional attire.
