The Federal government has officially given a go ahead to Lagos State government to commence the construction of Lekki International Airport.
Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika presented the letter of approval to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu at the ongoing 9th Lagos Economic Summit, Ehingbeti, in Victoria Island.
The Minister of Aviation noted that Lagos has the resources and exigencies for an additional airport, which will help to decongest Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was elated, said that the project is for the benefit of all residents in the state as it would boost socio-economic activities in Lekki and its environs.
The proposed Lekki International Airport is designed for a capacity of five million passengers and Cargoes.
