PDP chieftain hails Presidential Campaign flag-off in Uyo

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the “massive turn-out of Nigerians” in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to welcome the party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his running-mate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.

Kola Ologbodiyan, who is also the chief spokesman of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, was reacting to Monday’s official flag-off of the PDP’s Presidential Campaign in the Akwa-ibom State capital.

Mr Ologbodiyan said “the public show of support” was a “clear indication of victory for the Party” come next year.

In a statement, The PDP Presidential Campaign spokesman stressed that the Uyo rally has come on the heels of similar massive turn-outs and acceptance of the Atiku-Okowa ticket in Kano, Ibadan, Enugu, Gombe and other parts of the country, where, he said, Nigerians have rallied in support of the flag-bearers.

Mr Ologbodiyan said The PDP has therefore started it’s journey to Aso Rock, because, according to him, Nigerians have suffered untold woes under the current leadership.

He insisted that Alhaji Atiku has the required experience and capacity to rescue and rebuild the country, saying that the former vice-president “knows and understands the nuances of the nation” and would carry every part of the country along.
