The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says that there have been 10,217 suspected cases of cholera in 31 states in 2022, with 233 deaths.
Director-General of the NCDC, Dr. Ifedayo Adetife, at a ministerial briefing on Wednesday, where he gave an update on COVID-19 response as well as development in the health sector said in August, the figure was up 47% as compared to July.
Dr. Adetifa also said that Lassa fever has been confirmed in 933 people from 25 states, and 173 of them have died, of which 71% were from Ondo, Edo, and Bauchi States.
He also said 18 545 confirmed cases of measles had led to 234 deaths in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Out of the 1,180 possible cases of monkeypox, 481 have been confirmed, and seven people have died, he added.
