Custom seizes contraband worth over N230m

The Niger Kogi Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service says it has seized smuggled items with a duty paid value of over two hundred and thirty eight million naira within two months.

The Controller of the Area Command, Mr Busayo Kadejo, announced this while displaying the seized items before newsmen in Minna as he marks sixty days in office.

Mr Kadejo, explained that some of the  items seized includes; fifty-seven units of different exotic vehicles, twenty-one bales of second-hand clothing, ninety bags of fertilizer and thirty-six bags of fifty-kg foreign parboiled rice.

The Comptroller of Niger Kogi Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service, explained that they had deployed massive intelligence, applied rules of engagement and no casualty was recorded.

He maintained that the Federal Government’s directive on border closure is still in force at Babanna and commended the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
