The 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia says he is determined to “evolve a leadership style” that will connect to a clear, compelling vision of transforming the fortunes of all Benue people.

Father Alia made the pledge at a thanksgiving Mass organised by his supporters in appreciation to God for his recent victory at the governorship primaries.

Benue State, he said, has been in a dearth of leadership as evident in the inability of the governing PDP to tap into the distinct and admirable natural and human resources the state is endowed with.

The APC flag-bearer called on Benue people to vote for all the party’s candidates, beginning from the president down to the state legislative assembly.

According to him, a team of like-minds in leadership, both at the state and national levels, will ease the work of governance and open up opportunities for the people.

He addressed those who, he said, were suffering “the deliberate refusal of the state government to live up to its salary and pension obligations”, telling them to be hopeful and confident in the ability of the APC to produce leaders who will change the narrative and “make their future bright and better”.

The event featured maternal blessings and adornment of Reverend Alia in traditional Tiv attire.
