Flamingos back on track after thrashing New Zealand 4-0

Nigeria’s Under-17 women’s team, on Friday afternoon, got their World Cup campaign back on track after trouncing New Zealand 4-0 in their second group game in Goa, India.

The Flamingoes who were beaten 2-1 by Germany in their opening group B game scored the opener in the 16th minute, through Amina Bello; before Miracle Usani struck a powerful shot to make it 2-0 for Nigeria, in the 34th Minute.

Two more goals in the second half by Taiwo Afolabi in the 75 minutes and substitute Etim Edidiong completed the rout, against the Kiwis.

In the other group B match that followed; Germany thrashed Chile to record their second win, in as many games, to qualify for the quarterfinals.

On Monday, Nigeria will play their final group game against Chile, who on the opening day, thrashed New Zealand 3-1; while New Zealand takes on Germany in the other group B encounter.
