PDP leaders meet over party crisis

Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) board of trustees are meeting with the national chairman of the party Dr Iyorchia Ayu in a move to save the party from losing the 2023 general election due to the leadership crisis.

At the meeting the chairman of the BoT, former senate President Adolphus Wabara said they had come up with a report on how the crisis could be resolved and urged stakeholders to make sacrifices to save the party.

Dr Ayu who called for unity in the party pledged to continue to work on the aggrieved members with a view to bring them back on board.

Just as the BoT were meeting with Dr Ayu, the leader of the aggrieved members of the party, Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike was interacting with newsmen in Port-Harcourt, insisting that Dr. Ayu must quit office so that a southern National Chairman can emerge in line with the principle of justice and fairness.
