Kidnapped police officer regains freedom

Kwara State Police Command says it has rescued ASP Ahmed Yusuf of the IGP Monitoring Team attached to the State Command who was abducted in his house at Oloje area of Ilorin.

Spokesman of the command, Okasanmi Ajayi in a statement said the police officer was abducted on Tuesday October, 11 by 6 armed hoodlums.

According to him the officer was rescued on Sunday at a bush bordering Kwara and Oyo states.

Ajayi explained that the rescue mission became possible following the despatch of the command’s tactical teams, local vigilante and hunters with support of the Oyo State Amotekun squad.

He noted that efforts by the combined team yielded the expected result as the kidnappers escaped and abandoned the abducted personnel.

Ajayi said Ahmed Yusuf is currently undergoing medical examination.
