PDP alleges plot to disrupt rally in Kaduna

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has uncovered an alleged plot by certain anti-democratic forces to cause tension and disrupt the party’s rally taking place in Kaduna State on Monday.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba says those behind the plot are uncomfortable with the success of the on-going reconciliation efforts and popularity of the party and are bent to discredit the PDP Presidential Campaign Rally scheduled for Kaduna State.

The statement says those orchestrating the tension and impression of crisis in the party are anti-party elements who are not happy with the campaign successes achieved by the National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu and other party leaders.

While urging PDP members to remain standfast, the statement calls on security agencies to immediately set in motion machinery to forestall any attempt by anybody or group to disrupt the scheduled programme.

The People’s Democratic Party has been beset by a protracted leadership crisis arising from the party’s presidential primary election which has pitched some Governors led by Nyesome Wike of Rivers state against the national chairman of the the party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
