Nigeria Cinemas generates N495m as revenue in September

The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) says it generated N495million in September from ticket sales across cinemas in the country.

Mr Ope Ajayi, National President of CEAN, revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

He explained that ticket sales at cinemas generated N334,071,950.00 in September 2021 and N495,324,900.00 in September 2022.

Mr Ajayi stated that September’s performance increased by 48% year on year, while box office receipts increased by 31% in September 2022 compared to August 2022.

He listed the films to be out in the rest of October as: Win or Lose, Detective Knight Rogue, Black Adam, Invaders, Halloween Ends, Lyle Lyle Crocodile and One for Sarah.

”It was also a great delight seeing Nollywood’s Jimmy Odukoya in a whole different light with all the sword fight and flicks”. He stated.
