ICT critical to educational development- FG

The Federal Government says it will continue to place priority on providing the right environment for teaching and learning to make enable students ICT compliant.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr David Adejo, stated this in Abuja at the 2022 EdTech Summit and award with the theme “Industrial Revolution, the Future of Education”.

According to him, ‘’Technology has become the driver of competitiveness in our world today. it has redefined productivity and changed the dynamics of production and services, it has expanded social networking beyond borders and affected virtually every sector of the world economy’’.

The Managing Director, AFRITEX, and facilitator of the programme Mr. Oyeshola Oworu, explained that the idea was to take advantage of the ICT programmes to improve access to quality education in the country.

He stressed the need for experts to continue to share ideas to boost and create a working plan that would develop the education system through the use of the 5G technology network.

The Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission, Professor Umar Danbatta, represented by the Director of Research and Development, Alhaji Ismail Adedigba, said that the federal government was consciously working on making the country’s education system, ICT base.
