The Federal Capital Territory Administration has strengthened advocacy in the six area councils of the FCT to address the increasing rate of malaria and improve health care delivery.
The leader of the FCT Advocacy Team on Malaria Control, Immunization, and Nutrition group Mr. Peter Ogbonnaya Ikiti said the team would proffer solutions to some of the lapses observed in health facilities in the areas to improve service delivery, especially to people in rural areas.
Mr Peter, called on area Council Authorities to always give priority to qualitative healthcare delivery in their areas
The essence of the visit to the Area Councils was to seek ways of ensuring effective healthcare delivery at the grassroots in the Federal Capital Territory
The Director, of Primary Health Care Kwali Area Council Dr Samuel Adudu, appreciated the team for indicating interest to support the council’s Primary Health care centres in sensitising the residents to take ownership and desist from acts that could hinder effective healthcare delivery.
The Director, of Primary Health Care, Kuje Area Council, Dr Joash Yako appreciated the visit and stressed that the council would not hesitate to ensure all support to complement the government was given adequate attention.
