Four preferred and reserved bidders have been selected for the concession of the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, Abuja, Murtala Mohammed international Airport and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika made this known at a news conference in Abuja.

Senator Sirika noted that Corporacion America Airport Consortium emerged as the preferred bidder for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano while TAV/NAHCO project planet consortium was selected as the preferred bidder for Murtala Mohammed international Airport, Lagos.

The Minister said Port-Harcourt international airport was left with no bidder because no company submitted any proposal before the deadline closure.

The Minister of Aviation who said that the concession programme was at its multistage process explained that the preferred bidders would now go into negotiations with the government to develop a full business case after which it would  be sent to the Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission for review and approval.

Senator Hadi Sirika said afterwards, the approved business case would be brought before the federal executive Council assuring that the concession would not cause any job loss of workers in the affected airports.
