Buhari returns to Nigeria after Bio Summit in South Korea

President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Nigeria after a three day trip to South Korea where in participated in the first World Bio Summit.

The theme of the summit is ”The Future of Vaccine and Bio-Health”.

During the summit in Seoul, South Korea, the President expressed delight in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd and Daewoo Group of South Korea for the rehabilitation of the Kaduna refinery.

President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria will benefit from the massive investments in the automobile, maritime and other sectors through her partnership with South Korea.

“I am also aware that Daewoo is currently engaged in the execution of the NLNG train seven project and also constructing sea-going LPG vessels for NNPC and her partners.” President Buhari stated.

President Buhari said that Nigeria was ready to become a global hub for vaccine production and distribution.

The President also met with a delegation of Nigerians living in South Korea.

Group Chief Executive Officer, NNPC Ltd, Mr Mele Kyari said “We endorsed the LOI for the the revised strategy of quick fix for the Kaduna refinery with Daewoo in Seoul. Mobilization to site to commence shortly. Rehab activities in Portharcourt and Warri continuing. We are poised to deliver”.

Mr Mele Kyari maintained that Nigeria would continue to deepen Energy industry collaboration with Korean partners.

The conference, co-organized by the Government of the Republic of Korea and the World Health Organization (WHO), brought together world leaders and CEOs of global vaccine and biologics companies to share and shape ideas on the given theme.
