Police rescue baby, three others in Zamfara

Concerted efforts of the Police and vigilante have led to the rescue of four Kidnapped victims, including a one year old baby from bandits.

The rescue of the victims was sequel to the report received by the Police on the abduction of the victims.

The Zamfara State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Muhammad Shehu disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

Bandits in their large number on 14th October, 2022, invaded Kuraje village in Gusau LGA and abducted four of them to Munhaye forest in Tsafe where they spent 15 days in captivity.

He says the Command received an intelligence report on bandits plan to attack some villages in Bukkuyum, Tsafe, Bungudu, Gusau and Maru local government, but Police Tactical Operatives in conjunction with the vigilante repelling the planned attacks.

The victims were taken to Police Clinic for medical check and later reunited with their families.

The Commissioner of Police reassured the public on the command’s commitment toward restoring peace and security in the state, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom and urges all and sundry to be security conscious.
