PDP, APC scuffle over zonal support

The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization has accused the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu of trying to procure reputable South-West leaders to support his presidential ambition.

The Atiku Campaign Organization, which stated this in Abuja, maintained that Nigerians watched with dismay as the APC presidential candidate resorted to playing ethnic cards at a session he organized at Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s house in Akure, Ondo State last weekend.

The campaign organization, in a statement issued by a Spokesperson, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, alleged that Tinubu’s plan was to divert attention from his numerous anti-people issues and use the unsuspecting leaders to create an impression of having secured the endorsement of the Southwest, adding that he could not sway the region the way he procured APC presidential ticket.

But in a swift reaction, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC from Delta state, chief Frank Uromieyaghan described the allegation as baseless because the APC presidential candidate does not need to buy anyone to win the forthcoming election.

He maintained that Yoruba leaders know the role Tinubu has being playing to promote the cause of the south west including the financial and other support to the June 12 struggle and would readily support his aspiration to become president.
