IGP orders investigation into female officer assault

The Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, Mr Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged assault on a female Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele by her DCO in Ode Omu, Osun State.

A statement by the Force Public Relation Officer, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi, assures, the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.

“We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken”

A middle-aged police Inspector identified as Bamidele Olorunsogo attached to Ode-Omu community in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State has alleged that the Divisional Crime Officer of the station, Mr Ajayi Matthew of assaulted her over her refusal for an amorous relationship. 

In a viral video, Bamidele claimed that the incident happened at the station on Tuesday in the presence of two Constable and ten civilians. 

Bamidele alleged that her boss made a dating proposal to her which she turned down on the ground that she is married.
