The Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) says it has a message of hope and restoration for Nigerians, especially now that the nation is in a “critical situation”.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the Director of Strategic Communication in the organisation, Dele Momodu said Nigeria was currently in a “precarious situation” and needed an experienced person to manage it “and save it from collapse”.
According to Mr Momodu, this is not a time for experiments, but the situation requires a man like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, “who can hit the ground running from day-one” because of his vast experience.
A Spokesman for the campaign organisation, Charles Aniagwu said the PDP was very much concerned about the high level of poverty in the country and was determined to reverse the trend with the Atiku Okowa ticket.
Mr Aniagwu expressed worry over the “free fall of the Naira”, stressing that the Nigerian economy needed “far-reaching reforms, not just window dressing”.
