Aston Villa returned to winning ways by defeating Manchester United 3-1 to hand a dream debut to their new manager, Unai Emery at Villa Park on Sunday.
Villa scored two goals in 4minutes, first with Leon Bailey who gave Aston Villa the lead in the 7th minute when he broke clear to drive home a low shot into the corner beyond Man United goal keeper, David de Gea.
The second goal came three minutes when Lucas Digne stunned the away team with a well curled in free-kick from 25 yards.
Manchester United players did try the Villa goal keeper through Alejandro Garnacho when he took a shot from an angle that was brilliantly saved by Emi Martinez.
Luke Shaw pulled a goal back for the visiting team when his shot took a big deflection off Jacob Ramsey.
Few minutes later, Villa’s Ramsey latched onto Ollie Watkins’ ball and powered a shot beyond De Gea to take the goal beyond reach for United.
The win moved Aston Villa up to 14th, three points above the relegation zone, while Manchester United remain 5th.
