Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has declared tomorrow, Thursday as public holiday for the conduct of local government councils election.
In a statement by Secretary to the State Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, the public holiday is to enable Citizens of the State to actively participate in the elections without any hitch.
The Secretary to Niger State Government however said during the election period, markets and offices shall be closed and that movement of persons and vehicles restricted, except for those on essential duties.
He urged residents to come out enmasse and perform their civic duties.
The statement added that Governor Sani Bello has directed all Security Agencies in the State to ensure violence-free Local Government Elections, stressing that Government is committed to safeguarding and guaranteeing a hitch-free process.
