NGO donates transformer, solar plant to communities in FCT

As part of its corporate social responsibility, an NGO, Webmark Foundation has donated electricity transformer, solar power plants and a resting pavilion to communities in Lugbe Phase 2 extension, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council and Gudaba community in the Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

Presenting the materials to the two communities, the Dr. Chukwuemeka Maha said the idea was to help people feel comfortable in their homes with good power supply.

He noted that the gesture was also geared towards making accommodation accessible to the citizens.

Dr. Maha said the Foundation is collaborating with the federal and state governments particularly in the areas of health, shelter and education.

Similarly, the Programme Coordinator of the Foundation, Mrs Alukwe Ugochinyere said the choice of the areas was borne out of the need to reach out to people in communities who are in dire need of humanitarian support.

One of the beneficiaries in Lugbe Phase 2 extension, Mr Odun Obasa said the electricity transformer and the solar plant would attract more development to the area and ease their way of living.

The Chairman of the benefiting community in Gudaba in Kuje Area Council, Mr Abiodun Ojo appreciated the Foundation for the gesture.

The Webmark Foundation’s Managing Director, Mr Olapeace Ogunfile noted that the organisation will continue to be embark on projects that will eradicate poverty, corruption, illiteracy, and transform the lives of Nigerians.
