Establish MSME’s Council in state – SMEDAN

State Governments have been task to establish state councils on Micro Small and Medium Scale Enteprises MSME’s.

Director General of the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria Mr. Olawale Fasanya stated this in Uyo at the National Business Skills Development Initiative in Uyo.

Represented by Mr Tunde Oloyede, Mr Fasanya said the state council of MSME’s will support the National council on NSME’s to ensure that policies to benefit the growth of NSME’s will impact on such businesses situated in the grassroots which will ultimately boost the economy of rural areas in the country

Mr Adesanya said in a bid to promote Small businesses his agency is currently training three thousand three hundred and thirty entrepreneurs across the country under the National Business Skills Development Initiative.

According to him 180 Akwa Ibomites will be trained and empowered in areas such as fashion,carpentry and Catering.

He explained that the program is Expected to enable the participants gain knowledge that would help them run their businesses

Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Labour and Manpower planning Mr. Aniefiok Nkom  said the training and empowerment will help to stimulate the economy of the state.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Pastor Sunday Umana, he encouraged the participants and charged SMEDAN to do more.

Some of the participants commended SMEDAN for organizing the event.
