Youth charged to take advantage of FG empowerment programme

Nigerian youths have been challenged to take advantage of the different empowerment programmes set of by the federal government rather than engaging in vices inimical  to national development.

Former General Officer Commander, GOC, 3 Division, Rukuba Cantonment, Jos Plateau State, Major General Saleh Maina (rtd) gave the charge in Abuja while addressing youths from the 36 states of the federation on the Theme “Inclusive Youths dialogue Against Electoral Violence”.

Major General  Maina who identified the potentials endowed in the youths as enormous said they most create safe spaces for a violent free electoral process come 2023.

The Founder, Vision Africa, Bishop Sunday Onouha said dialogue was a critical component in resolving issues, urged the youths to evolve ideas that would guarantee peace , unity and development of the country. 

A representative of Persons with Disabilities, Patience Dickson of the Advocacy for Women with Disabilities Initiate, harped on the need for government to put in place mechanisms that would create a seamless voting for them.

The President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Solomon Adodo who applauded the initiatives by the Global Peace Foundation for assembling youths on voter education said the council would continue to tow same pattern for more youths awareness. 

Earlier, the Regional Representative, Global Peace Foundation, Reverend Father Canice Enyiaka urged the Youths to learn from history on how other nations develop through the ingenuity of youths.

He urged them to use their numerical strength to always stand and speak for peace especially in the forthcoming elections
