Buratai receives ‘Excellence’ award

The National forum of former Councilors across the country has presented for the first time a leadership award of philanthropist per excellence to the former Chief of Army Staff, retired Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai for his contribution to peace and upliftment of the less privilege across the country.

The President of the forum, Ambassador Awwal Kasim Hassan while leading delegates of the forum to Buratai farm house in Nasarawa State for the award said General Buratai deserve the award with his record of selfless service to the nation both as a military officer and a former ambassador to Benin republic as well as his philanthropic gesture to less privilege women and youth across the country.

Ambassador Hassan emphasised that if leaders at all levels would emulate the style of leadership of General Buratai the nation would develop rapidly.

He used the forum to call on General Buratai to desire to serve the country in a higher capacity in the country in the political arena.

General Buratai while commending the forum for the award, acknowledged the political season that Nigeria is in now and called on all Nigerians to choose the right candidates into position and witness the progress of the nation come 2023.

He said selfless leadership is what the nation needs and he would consider that option in years to come.

The National forum for Ex-Councilors is the body that houses the councilors in the 774 local government areas across the country with the Vision of pursuing peace and development in the grassroots and has been in existence for the past thirty years.
