NGO tasks women on nation building

Women have been enjoined to always support one another to contribute positively to the growth and development of the country

The Founder of a non-governmental organization ‘’Young Moms Support Initiative’’ Dr. Vivian Sonny – Nsirim, in a statement said women should always be ready to make informed decisions, and take active actions that would turn around the challenges facing women, girls and youths in the society country.

Dr. Sonny-Nsirim also urged citizens to verify the information given to prevent being swayed by lies and false statistics.

“Nigerians must vote in leaders with good antecedents and not be swayed by emotions to find lasting solutions to the country’s challenges. Governance is not about emotions or trial and error. We must look at what we want. In Nigeria today”.

“We must agree and be ready to make sacrifices for our children. It is not about everybody thinking they have the solutions to the country’s problems, but to unite and make the right choice. We should stop attacking ourselves, avoid hate speeches and stop spreading fake news”, she said

Dr. Sonny-Nsirim who holds the traditional title of Madubin of Uke Kingdom, stressed the need for every woman to be agents of change, a home builder and a destiny shaper, rather than fueling crisis in the society.

According to her “Young Moms Support Initiative is a platform to accelerate an enabling society where young mothers can speak out and seek support.

“So far We have empowered over 50,000 young women through our skills acquisition programs. We have so many young girls, women, widows, orphans and out of school children who look up to us for survival, when you empower a girl child, you empower a nation”, she maintained.
