The Nigerian Airforce has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, ISPON to enhance airspace safety standards and improve the capacity of personnel in the fight against terrorism and other forms of insecurity in the country.
The Minister of Defence, Retired Major General Bashir Magashi, stated this at an event in Lagos.
Major General Magashi, said the peculiarities of air operations necessitated the Nigerian Airforce to take the lead in safety matters of warfare strategy, operations and tactics.
The minister represented by the Director, Air Force Affairs, Mallam Dahiru Muhammed, expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Airforce for the onslaught on insurgents and bandits.
On his part, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao explained that the seminar would deliberate on issues bothering on safety, with the aim of improving personnel performance and operations.
The President, Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria, Mr. Kaizer Ebi, remarked that the MOU with the Nigerian Airforce was not the first with a government agency.
The two days Nigerian Air force Safety 2022 seminar was entitled ”Enhancing safety in the NAF, in Conflict situations”.
