Police rescue 6 women, child abducted in Zamfara

Zamfara State Police Command has secured the release of 6 women and a year-old baby abducted by bandits terrorizing Kadamutsa village in Zurmi local government area of the state.

In a statement, the Zamfara State Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Muhammad Shehu says the Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with local Vigilante acted on intelligence on the abduction.

It says Police operatives mobilised to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi-Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt.

The statement notes that the victims were taken to the hospital for medical checkup, debriefed by the Police detectives and then handed over to their families.

It commends the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation.

The statement reiterates the Command’s determination to rid the state of criminal activities and urges the public to always report any suspicious movement to the nearest security agencies for prompt action.
