Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has proposed the sum of N166,985,075,110 as budget for the 2023 fiscal year.
Presenting the proposed budget to the State House of Assembly, Governor Atiku Bagudu, explained that, the recurrent expenditure stands at N60.46billion.
Breaking down the figure for the recurrent expenditure, the Governor said personnel costs was put at N29.9billion while overhead costs N30.5billion.
He proposed statutory allocations of N48.37billion and internally generated revenues of N10.18billion.
Governor Atiku Bagudu maintained that the 2023 Budget was guided by the strategic objectives of the State Development Plan 2022-2027, which are to improve governance towards focusing on institutions through accountability, rule of Law, transparency, and efficiency that delivers quality social service to Kebbi State citizens.
Responding, the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Sani Lolo assured that the house would work towards the quick passage of the budget.
