Over eighty illegal refineries in the southern part of the country have been destroyed and more than one million liters of crude oil seized by the Nigerian Armed Forces in various operations across the region within the past two weeks.
The Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami stated this in Abuja during the bi-weekly news briefing of the military’s operations across the six geopolitical zones of the country to keep the nation safe.
General Danmadami said in the southern operations about eighty economic saboteurs were arrested in various operations as over N400 million worth of crude oil was denied the saboteurs among other things during the raid.
General Danmadami also gave a breakdown of over 240 insurgents, bandits and criminals arrested within the past two weeks with the rescue of about 41 kidnapped victims as well as the killing of 51 insurgents and criminals among the surrendered ones with their families across the country.
The Director emphasized that most of the rescue and killing of criminals were recorded in the North East zone operations of the military and called on the citizens to continue to collaborate with security agencies to bring insecurity to its barest.
