The National Assembly has been urged to expedite action in passing the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) into law to make it a national policy for the benefit of the common man.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, during a rally by the beneficiaries, the Kwara state focal person of the National Social Investment Programmed NSIP, Mrs Basirah Abdulrazaq, said that the programmed should be sustained.
She commended the federal and the Kwara state government for empowering Nigerian youths through the programmes.
Mrs Abdulrazaq, noted that many youths and the elderly who have been unemployed have regained employment through different government social investment programmed, adding that the program must not be allowed to die as it had lifted many youths from poverty..
