Reactions have continued to trail the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag-bearer, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the United Kingdom’s CHATAM house on Monday.
In its reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it was not impressed by Senator Tinubu’s performance at the Chatham House, London.
The Director, Strategic Communications, Atiku-Okowa Campaign Organisation, Dele Momodu, in a statement, described it as “a complete charade”.
But the APC Presidential Campaign Council defended Senator Tinubu, saying he “demonstrated capacity, competence, experience and leadership”.
Senator Tinubu, shortly after the CHATAM house event, spoke on his record, wealth and the economy in an interview with the BBC Africa Service, monitored by Radio Nigeria.
Senator Tinubu described himself as the “candidate to beat” in next year’s election, explaining the reason why, according to him, he has been “under serious attack” by opponents.
Describing himself as the “most competent candidate”, Senator Tinubu said other contenders were “not up to the task”, and that none of them could match his “track record”.
Expressing optimism that next year’s polls would be free and fair, the APC presidential candidate said things were “going very well” and that he was “confident about the election”.
