Clerics urges govt to rescue remaining abducted students

The Chief Imam of Dr Halliru Bello Juma’at mosque in Birnin Kebbi metropolis, Kebbi state, Malam Tukur Kola, has called on the federal and state governments to secure the release of the remaining 11 abducted students of the federal government college Birnin Yauri.

The Chief Imam who made the call in his Juma’at sermon, said for over one year, six months of abduction by bandits, the remaining eleven girls were said to have allegedly been married to the bandits.

He said reports reaching him indicated that some of the abducted children have been married to the bandits and delivered of babies, noting that a mother of one of the students had died after hearing of her daughters situation..

Imam Kola, expressed displeasure with the way government is handling the issue of the abducted children.

According to him, the abductors of the school children were still alive and in the forest of Kebbi and Niger states.
