Bandits have killed six persons, including a 120-year old woman, in Raka community of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Confirming the incident, the Acting Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Council of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal Junju, who was on a commiseration visit to the area, said although no abduction was made, food items and two third of the houses in the village were burnt down by the bandits who carted away with undisclosed number of animals.
Receiving the acting chairman of the LG, the district head of the area, Malam Saidu Wakili who was visibly disturbed and cannot hide his emotion with the increasing insecurity appealed to the State and Federal Government as well as individuals to come to their aid as they were now rendered homeless without basic necessity of life.
Also sympathizing with the community, Special Adviser on Roads Maintenance to the Sokoto state government, Mai Damma Tangaza, assessed the level of damage by the insurgents, and pledged to forward his findings to the state government for necessary assistance to the victims.
