A Lagos State Environmental and Special Offenses (Mobile) Court sitting in Bolade, Oshodi on Monday sentenced Oluchukwu to prison.
The fake cop was charged by LASTMA with “impersonation” and “behavior likely to provoke breach of peace” on two separate occasions.
Oluchukwu pleaded guilty to the accusations brought against him, and according to a statement from LASTMA Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Adebayo Taofiq, the judge sentenced him to a four-month jail term without the option of a fine.
The Court Prosecutor, Agbaje Oladotun says that both offences levied against the convict (Breach of Peace and Impersonation) contravened Section 168 (D) and Section 78 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State (2015) respectively.
Bolaji Oreagba LASTMA General Manager, said the judgement was a welcome development as it would serve as deterrent to others who are still extorting money from innocent members of public under false pretense.
