Police arrests five kidnappers in Kwara

The Kwara state Police command has arrested five suspected kidnappers in Ekiti Local Government Area of the State.

The Command also recovered two locally made guns and phones from the suspects.

Parading the suspects, the state Commisssioner of Police, Mr Paul Odama, said One Shina Luke Abiodun and one other person, while riding on a motorcycle on their way from Egbe in Kogi State were accosted at Koro village close to Eruku town by men numbering about six.

According to him, the suspected Kidnappers opened fire on them and they sustained gunshot injuries.

Mr Odama said the victims escaped the attack and ran to the Anti-Kidnapping patrol team stationed at Eruku town.

He explained that the team moved to the scene and one Techno Phone was recovered and noted that Forensic analysis of the phone by the investigators led to the arrest of the suspects.

The Commisssioner explained that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to have been responsible for kidnapping operations within Ekiti, Kogi and Kwara States.

He added that the suspects also confessed to be responsible for the killing of one Inspector Segun Ayegbulu of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC attached to Ekiti Command.
