Direct immediate surveillance in Kaduna- Reps tell Buhari

The House of Representatives, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Chief of Defence Staff to initiate coordinated joint security operations and surveillance to get rid off the terrorists perpetrating the killings in Southern Kaduna.

This was sequel to a motion of urgent public importance on the killings in Southern Kaduna State, by the Deputy minority whip, Mr Gideon Gwani at plenary.

The lawmaker noted that on Sunday the 17th of December, 37 people were killed in Kagoro and neighboring communities, property destroyed and grains stolen in the communities.

According to him, the situation if not urgently addressed, could constitute a national security threat.

Adopting the motion, the House mandated the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to provide relief materials to affected victims.

A minute silence was also observed for the repose of the souls of those killed.
