The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 751 suspects for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery and rape between January and December 2022.
The State Commissioner of Police Maiyaki Baba stated this during a news briefing in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
Mr Maiyaki Baba said 748 firearms and live ammunition were also recovered from the suspects within the year under review.
He explained that out of the figure, 374 suspects had been charged to court while 23 were convicted.
The Police Commissioner also paraded eight suspects who were arrested for their alleged involvement in various crimes at different parts of the state during the yuletide period including 18-year-old Mohammed Abdulmalik and Yusuf Maji who were apprehended around the Federal University of Lafia while attempting to initiate new members into cultism.
