Civil society unveils outstanding women in 2022

The Conference of Civil Society of Nigeria has ranked the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Dame Pauline Tallen, the Director General of National Pension Commission, Aisha Dahir- Umar and the Federal Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim amongst the most outstanding women administrators of the year 2022.

Other Female public servants rated high for sincerity and great contributions to National development include the head of Service, Dr Folasade Yemi Esan, the Director General of NAFDAC and Professor Mojisola Adeyeye.

In a new year message to the Women Society of Nigeria, the Chairperson of the Conference of Civil Society of Nigeria, Dr Adams Otakwu maintained that Year 2022 was a year of much contrast and contradictions, one that greeted the civil society as well as public administrators with several domestic confrontations, but applauded the efforts of some distinguished women towards alleviating the suffering facing pensioners, and refugees, as well as the fight against fake drugs and corruption in civil Service.

“Dame Pauline Tallen, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, has more than many others in our country’s history canvassed more women empowerment, children protection, issues affecting persons with disabilities and elderlies as well as initiation of policy guidelines for gender equality and mainstreaming”, Dr Otakwu noted.

For the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, the chairperson said has well managed the Federal Civil Service, “which is fast restoring unusual discipline and effective service delivery in the Civil Service of the Federation”.

“Also, is Hajia Aisha Dahir-Umar, the Director General of the National Pension Commission who has in the last three years, maintained an unbroken record as one of the greatest Pension reformers in Nigeria’s history”, Dr Otakwu said.

On the promotion of public health, Dr Otakwu said, the Director-General, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, Dr Otakwu championed and sustained an “effective regulatory system that ensures only the right quality food, drugs and other regulated products are manufactured, exported, imported, advertised, distributed, sold and used in Nigeria”.
